I need to step up my pitching speed to help me make the high school softball team. I am very accurate and can pitch the ball to the glove everytime, but I can’t compete with the other players’ speed. HELP ME!
Stop trying to compete with them. If you’re not a power pitcher, then you’re not a power pitcher. Learn to use the movement of your pitches to your advantage.
Only advice I can give to improve velocity is to work on your core muscles (abs and back), and more importantly, your legs. A pitcher (and hitter) gets their power from their lower body… keeping a strong core will help your stamina, and help maintain your control over the rest of your body.
