Does anyone have tips for pitching windmill style in softball?

I pitch slow, and I want to know how to pitch faster because I might need to this year. I need tips on how to accurately pitch the windmill!!!

ok, have you ever heard of the line on power. its an imaginary line running from your right (assuming your right handed) big toe the catchers glove. when you throw the ball, your hips, shoulders, arms, and the ball should be on this line. your left foot will be at a 45 degreee angle on this line. the key thing is to make sure you turn sideways, and get the ball on that line, it will increase your speed. as you go around the circle lead with your pinky, and snap leading your pinky finger, dont’ push the ball. umm when you hold the ball, hold it losely. loose is fast, tight is slow. the one chick is right about not having your arm completely straight. now it sholdn’t touch your head but don’t tighten it up. also, the lady above was right about having leg drive, but dont push off the rubber, you need to drive your leg out forward, now this doesn’t mean take a huge stride, it just means drive hard to your position.

the guy above me is dead on about starting your motion slow. when you get to your actuall windmill you need to explode off the mound, take the time before to breath and then just take off.

also don’t think to much it can really screw with you.

ok, the best thing to do is look up some pitchers on the internet. the ones you should look up are the following.

lisa fernandez
jennie finch
cat osterman
monica abott (her motion is really strange)

i put a webpage inteh sources place, its called rightviewpro and it will show you step by step the motions. if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page it has lisa fernandez throwing. if you watch it pay close attention to her shoulders and hips as she throws, you’ll notice that when shes at the top of the circle you can only see one hip and shoulder. also watcher her hand as she releases the ball. you can see how after she gets to the half she leads with her pinky, and you can see the way she snaps the ball, still leading with the pinky untill the snap. also watch her foot.

you do have to remember that this is lisa ferenandez so the hole thing were she finishes above her head and the huge stride thats really only something she can pull off.

another thing you can do is get in contact with a pitching coach they can really help you more than i can.

make sure your arm and your legs go at the same speed.
